Whether some or all of your natural teeth are missing, we may be able to restore the functionality of your mouth and aesthetics of your smile with dentures. Besides making your smile look better, dentures also improve the way your mouth functions overall. Dentures provide support for your cheeks and lips to reduce sagging of the muscles in your face.
Complete and partial dentures are a removable replacement for missing teeth. Complete dentures replace missing teeth for people with no remaining teeth and a partial denture replaces several teeth and works with the teeth that remain to restore function.
Missing teeth may be a result of gum disease, tooth decay or traumatic injury. For a person’s health and well-being, missing teeth should be replaced as soon as possible. Failure to replace missing teeth can cause remaining teeth to shift, difficulty biting into or chewing food and a sagging facial appearance.
For patients with complete dentures who have adequate bone, they may have the option of having implants placed to give their dentures something to hook onto, so that they don’t move when speaking or eating. Implant-supported dentures provide increased comfort and stability and decreased bone loss. By surgically placing the implant into the jawbone with a ball-and-socket connector, the denture can be securely attached and removed. If this sounds right for you, we would be more than happy to complete a consultation to see if this would be a good option for you.
After trying my luck with a few other offices around the Des Moines area, I must say this is my favorite! My whole visit was enjoyable and swift, accompanied by wonderful staff and meticulous work.”
