Meet The Doctors

Dr. Brad Richtsmeier and Dr. Mindy Richtsmeier share a passion for dentistry and a love of family.

Dr. Mindy Richtsmeier, DDS

Dr. Mindy received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa in 2007. Since then, she has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in all aspects of dentistry. She has achieved certification in and has a great deal of experience with adult cosmetic orthodontics, specifically 6 Month Smiles clear braces and Clear Correct clear aligners. She is also certified in soft tissue laser dentistry by the International Center for Laser Education.

Dr. Mindy is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Des Moines District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Spear Study Club.

In addition to her daily grind, Dr. Mindy makes a priority of serving those in need. She has participated in international mission trips, providing volunteer dental services in Jamaica and El Salvador. She actively volunteers with The Dental Lifeline Network, Donated Dental Services, Dentistry from the Heart, Iowa Mission of Mercy, and Everyone for Veterans.

Dr. Mindy serves on the board of Everyone for Veterans, a nonprofit group based in Seattle, Washington, that specializes in matching combat veterans in need with dentists willing to donate care around the country. She also works closely with our local VA hospital to help local vets, who do not qualify for dental care through the VA, get the dental care they need. .

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Mindy likes to think that she’s an expert snowboarder each winter and a stand-up paddleboard extraordinaire when summer hits. Her favorite activities include cooking, gardening, ignoring piles of laundry, DIY carpentry and landscaping projects, and shenanigans with the kids (Emma and Max). Family adventures include camping, swimming, bicycling, board games, and dance parties in the kitchen.
